I decided not to do this as when i had a go it did not work well and it did not look as professional and clean.

An alternative way I could have made my hull would be to have got the profiles, cut them out of styrene, then filled them with foam pieces and then after completely cover it in filler. Once set it could be sanded back until the edges of the styrene could be seen and this should leave you with the hull shape you need.
